AKUT® at the 52nd ASECAP Study & Information Days in Madrid

ASECAP (European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructures) is an alliance of motorway, tunnel, and bridge operators. Currently uniting 123 companies from 17 countries, it operates over 81,000 km of toll roads. The organisation promotes exchange and collaboration in the fields of road safety, financing, digitalisation, and sustainability.

During his talk titled “Sustainable Road Infrastructure Financing”, the CFO of ASFINAG, Herbert Kasser, presented ASFINAG's financing model and its future investments in the area of “Sustainability & Multimodality”. In the Session „Road Safety – Reaching Zero. What needs to be done and how?”Matteo De Padova from Milano Serravalle presented AKUT®, a system for the rapid detection of tunnel incidents, which is a crucial step towards reducing the impact of accidents in tunnels. During his presentation, Mr De Padova highlighted the key features of AKUT and announced that the system will be installed in three additional tunnels in the coming weeks:San RoccoVimercate and Fonica.
