Under the motto "A Digital ERA for Transport - Solutions for Society, Economy and Environment", around 3,000 international experts met to discuss developments in the field of mobility and the latest research findings. One of the main topics of the conference was how digitalization is changing transport and mobility systems.
JOANNEUM RESEARCH DIGITAL presented the product AKUT at TRA2018 at a joint booth of the "Zentrum am Berg". The innovation of JOANNEUM RESEARCH was developed together with ASFINAG until it was ready for series production. Microphones record all sounds, a software then separates typical traffic noises from untypical ones and triggers an alarm accordingly. In combination with the video cameras activated as a result, operators in the ASFINAG traffic management centers can respond to dangerous situations within seconds.
At the booth, the products of another nine Austrian companies from the field of planning, construction and equipment of tunnels were also presented to the international experts.
